Perfect timing4/29/2023 In Genesis 18, God visited Abraham through three men and renewed His promise to Abraham, saying, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son” (verse 10 New King James Version). Many years after God had promised Abraham a child, his wife, Sarah, was yet to conceive. When you do, everything will be beautiful. May you do the right thing at the right time that God wants it done. May you not act ahead of God and miss His timing. The chapter goes ahead to say in verse 11 that God has made everything beautiful in its time. The phrase “the fullness of the time had come” refers to God’s timing.Įcclesiastes 3:1 says to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Galatians 4:4-5 says, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (New King James Version). He couldn’t have died any time before the time He did. Jesus couldn’t have been born as a human being earlier than He was. God didn’t send Jesus prematurely He sent Him at the right time. God’s plan of redemption of humankind followed divine timing. But when it is God’s timing, everything works out perfectly. Because we don’t know the timing of God, we could be impatient, lose hope, or act prematurely. ![]() And His timing is perfect because God is perfect and His way is (Psalm 18:30). Whether regarding what God wants to do in our lives or the answer to our prayers, there is God’s timing. ![]() Just as He told the people of Judah in exile, God knows the thoughts that He thinks toward His children, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). God did not create man and leave him to live without any plan for him or input or direction. However, as Christians, we know that there is God factor in life. They believe they are in charge of their lives and there is nobody like God who has a plan for them or the right time for anything to be done in their lives. Those who don’t believe in God don’t care about this. One of the greatest challenges we face, as human beings, is understanding the timing of God. “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:4-5 New King James Version).
